Inclusive marketing is not new, but plenty of marketers still struggle to get it right. Sometimes mistakes come from a well-meaning place, but the impact is the same: materials that tokenize and stereotype certain communities, campaigns that attempt to profit off of social and political movements, and other superficial efforts that make little to no progress on diverse and inclusive representation overall.
